Webster County is located in south-central Nebraska along the Kansas Border. Red Cloud is its largest town and county seat with 1,100 people. The county is located about 40 miles south of Hastings.
Visitors are drawn to Webster to visit the childhood home of Nebraska author Willa Cather in Red Cloud. The Heritage Highway Scenic Byway, also known as U.S. Highway 136, provides a picturesque journey across the breadth of Webster County.
