Keith County is considered a Gateway to the American West. Ogallala is the county’s largest city with 4,600 people. Glimpses of the county’s Wild West days can be seen in present-day Ogallala. The Front Street Restaurant and Bar includes a replica frontier town where gunfights are re-enacted every summer.
