Despite its metallic name, much of Steele City is built of local stone. Thousands of visitors descend on the community of 60 residents on the third weekend in September for the Steele City Flea Market and Antique Farm Machinery Show.

Tractors and treasures are in abundance, and many fun activities provide the entertainment. Enter the pedal tractor pull on an adult-size version. There’s a pull for children, too. A beer garden, street dance, tractor parade and volleyball tournament add more fun, and the village blacksmith works the old way in the community’s stone blacksmith’s shop up the hill.
