Sarah Woodman Kansteiner

Elmwood is located east of Eagle and west of Weeping Water in Cass County. This small village of 650 was founded in 1868 and named for elm trees that stood nearby. Today, it’s known as the home of Bess Streeter Aldrich, a Nebraska author who published 13 novels and 200 short stories.
