Ole’s Big Game Steakhouse and Lounge

Ole’s Big Game Steakhouse and Lounge in Paxton is one of Nebraska’s most popular tourist attractions. The longtime business is decorated with wildlife mounts from animals that Ole Herstedt shot years ago. The town’s residents have given nicknames to the polar bear (Boris), giraffe (Ginger) and elephant (Ellie).

Ole’s chicken-fried steak has a mammoth following. Current owner Tim Holzfaster keeps the doors open all year long except for Christmas day.
