Museum of the Fur Trade

The Museum of the Fur Trade is located on a historic trading post site three miles east of Chadron. The comprehensive collection of artifacts includes weapons, blankets and clothing, as well as jewelry, tobacco boxes and quill smoothers. A garden of ancient Native American heirloom crops grows onsite. This is the only museum dedicated to the fur trade to be found anywhere.
