Kregel Windmill Factory Museum

Windmills are still part of the present-day Nebraska landscape. At the Kregel Windmill Factory in Nebraska City, visitors can see how these stately machines were engineered to harness the state’s notorious breezes. The facility began operating in 1902 and produced windmills for about 60 years. The museum has been preserved to appear much as it did during the 1930s, with details down to ledger books, a telephone and even an overcoat all appearing ready to be pressed back into service.
