Boot Hill Cemetery
Road 113 and Elm Street, Ogallala, NE 69153
(308) 254-5395
Rough cowhands and opportunistic criminals flooded the community of Ogallala in the 1870s. Lives were cheap during the lawless time. The local Boot Hill Cemetery quickly accumulated about 100 burials. One legend tells of Rattlesnake Ed being interred here after being shot over a $9 bet. Residents and law enforcement turned the tide and Ogallala is a peaceful community today.
