The Bess Streeter Aldrich House preserves the 24-year period in which Aldrich lived and built her literary legacy from this home at 204 East F St. in Elmwood. The structure appears much as it did when she moved from the home in 1946.

The Bess Streeter Aldrich Museum is six blocks away at 124 West D St. An original manuscript of her A Lantern in Her Hand is on display along with family items and her childhood doll, Flossie. Aldrich books still in print are for sale in the museum’s gift shop. Open by appointment only. Admission fees paid at one Aldrich attraction gain entry to both.
